The output yoke and the driveshaft work together to achieve the necessary clearance. The modified yoke must be used with the modified CV driveshaft that Tom provides. Since I already had installed Tom's 231 short tailshaft kit, I already had a good yoke. I chose to just modify my existing yoke. When ordering the driveshaft Tom can provide you with the proper output yoke already clearanced to accept the high clearance driveshaft.
Tom supplied me with these photos to get an idea of the clearance necessary to grind on the yoke. I found it helpful to keep the driveshaft nearby and occasionaly test fit the yoke onto the CV joint and test for clearance. Also Tom suggested putting tape around the seal area of the yoke just in case of a slip. I followed his advice.
